Mount Up, Come Up From the Depths, and Be Supplied to the Full
Walking in restoration requires strength — not the kind you manufacture, but the kind that comes from waiting on the Lord.
The Scriptures
"But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."
Strength for the walk comes from waiting on the Lord — binding your strength to His.
"You, who have shown me great and severe troubles, shall revive me again, and bring me up again from the depths of the earth."
The language of resurrection — God brings life up from the deepest places.
"You shall increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side."
After the depths, God promises increase and comfort on every side.
"And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
Supply (plēroō) filled to the top — measured against His riches, not your lack.
"…Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."
God’s own hand strengthens and upholds the one walking out restoration.
"…My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness…"
The strength of restoration is His strength, perfected exactly where you are weak.
Hebrew & Greek
To be strong, take firm hold — choosing to act strong based on God’s strength in you.
— Psalm 71:20
To fill to the full, fully supply — leaving no lack. Where He fills, nothing stays missing.
— Philippians 4:19
The Anchor Verse
Isaiah 40:31
"But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."
— NKJV
To "wait" is qavah — to bind together like a cord. Waiting is not passivity; it is active attachment, binding your strength to God’s so you ride what He is already doing.
Application
Eagles do not fight the wind — they use it. Waiting on God positions you to ride what He is already doing, instead of exhausting yourself trying to manufacture your own lift.
The depths are not the end of the story. The same God who allowed the trouble revives you again, brings you up, and increases your greatness on the other side.
His supply is measured against His riches in glory, not the economy or your savings. Plēroō fills the need all the way to the top — refuse the scarcity of an orphan and live as an heir.
