He Heals More Than the Body

The Anchor Verse
Psalm 147:3

The verb translated "bindeth up" is chabash (H2280) — the tender image of a physician dressing and wrapping a wound. God does not merely acknowledge the broken heart; He personally tends it.
Application
What This Means for You
The image in Psalm 147:3 is medical and tender: chabash (H2280) is what a physician does when he wraps a wound in clean cloth. God is not distant from your inner pain — He kneels beside it and dresses it. The heartbreak no scan can find is exactly the thing He names Himself able to heal.
Psalm 34:18 corrects a lie many carry in grief: that God withdraws when we fall apart. The opposite is true — He is "nigh," near, close, to the broken-hearted. Crushing is not evidence of His absence; it is where His nearness is promised.
And healing here reaches the mind as well. 2 Timothy 1:7 says the spirit of fear is not from God; power, love, and a sound mind are. If your battle is anxiety, dread, or a weariness that has hollowed you out, Isaiah 40 promises renewed strength to those who wait on the LORD — an exchange of His strength for your exhaustion.
