The Promises You Can Stand On and Declare
These are not wishes to hope for. They are promises to stand on.
The Scriptures
"…who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases."
Healing named as a covenant benefit, paired with forgiveness — "all" diseases.
"…and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee."
A direct covenant promise tied to serving the LORD.
"…I am the LORD that healeth thee."
The covenant name itself stands as a promise: Jehovah-Rapha.
"Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved…"
A model prayer of confident expectation, linking healing and salvation.
"With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation."
Long life and salvation promised to the one who dwells in God's shelter.
"Fear thou not; for I am with thee… I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee…"
God's presence, strength, and help promised in the place of fear.
"…by whose stripes ye were healed."
The finished, past-tense promise — the foundation under all the others.
"…let them pray over him… and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up."
The covenant practice of the church for the sick — the prayer of faith (sozo).
The Anchor Verse
Psalm 103:2-3
"Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases."
— KJV
David lists healing among the covenant "benefits" — alongside forgiveness — and twice says "all." Not some iniquities and some diseases, but all. These benefits are not earned; they are remembered and received.
Application
A promise is only as useful as your willingness to stand on it. These verses are gathered to be spoken aloud, written down, and kept before your eyes — the prescription of Group 6 applied to the promises themselves.
Notice the repeated "all" in Psalm 103 and the first-person "I will" of God in Exodus and Isaiah. These are not vague hopes. They are covenant declarations from the One whose name is Jehovah-Rapha and whose Son said "I will."
The foundation under every promise is 1 Peter 2:24 — "by whose stripes ye were healed." Past tense. The table has been set since before you were born. Your part is not to manufacture the bread, but to pull up your chair and receive.
