The Title "Messiah" (HaMashiach) Holds Prophet, Priest, and King at Once
Did you know the word "Messiah" is not a name but an office — actually three offices in one?
"…he ever liveth to make intercession for them." — Hebrews 7:25 (KJV)— Hebrews 7:25
The Hebrew הַמָּשִׁיחַ (HaMashiach, Strong's H4899) means "the Anointed One," and in the Greek New Testament it becomes Christos. The anointing (mashach) in ancient Israel set a person apart as chosen, empowered, and sent by God for a specific role.
Three roles were anointed in Israel: prophets, priests, and kings. HaMashiach carries all three at once — He speaks God's Word (Prophet), grants access through His blood (Priest), and governs with ultimate authority (King).
The priestly office is the one that touches your prayers. Hebrews 7:25 says He "ever liveth to make intercession" for those who come to God through Him.
Why It Matters
When you pray, you join a prayer already underway. Your Prophet, Priest, and King is interceding for you at the Father's right hand right now.
